Nothing's personalization ecosystem It continues to grow thanks to independent tools from the community that expand the possibilities of their hardware. One of the most notable is Glyph Matrix Editor, created by the developer Pauwma.
This impressive tool, which I told you about a few months ago, designed to facilitate the creation of animations in the Glyph Matrix of the Nothing devices, has just received a major update which further professionalizes the creative workflow.

Phone (4a) Pro support and project management
The most immediate update is the adaptation to the latest hardware. The editor now includes native support for the new Glyph Matrix resolution of the Phone (4a) Pro, allowing you to switch between different models from a single interface. The canvas automatically adjusts to the selected device, ensuring accurate animations.
In addition, the following has been implemented: multi-project support. Unlike previous versions, it's now possible to manage multiple creations simultaneously without fear of losing progress when switching between them. All work is saved locally, making it easy to organize different icon packs or animations.
Advanced animation and export tools
For those seeking smoother results, the introduction of Onion Skin (Onion skinning) is a fundamental change. This feature allows you to view the previous frame with configurable opacity while drawing the current one, something essential for frame-by-frame animation. Along with this, new playback modes have been added (Reverse and Ping-Pong) to preview the loop's behavior before ending it.
Finally, the editor enhances its usefulness for developers with direct export to Glyph Toy/Tool and Lottie JSON animations. This drastically simplifies the process of uploading creations to the Nothing Playground, eliminating technical friction for those who wish to share their tools with the rest of the community.
If you love tinkering and creating your own pixel-style animations, you're going to love Glyph Matrix Editor. As I've mentioned before, it's the ultimate tool Nothing itself should have created this for content generation for the Glyph Matrix. I recommend that you Follow Pauwma on X If you want to stay up to date on their projects. Without a doubt, a key figure in the Nothing community.
