The Nothing brand is once again betting on collective creativity. Following the success of last year's Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition, which It sold out in just 15 minutes and even won the prestigious Gold iF Award, Nothing announces the return of Community Edition Project, now for the future Phone (3a).

This time the approach is more open, more collaborative and, above all, more ambitious.
What is the Community Edition Project?
For those who don't know him, the Community Edition Project It is an initiative where real users participate in the design of a real product From Nothing. Last year, five community members helped create a special edition of the Phone (2a), including its design, packaging, and visual experience.

This 2025, the challenge goes up a level and opens up to more ideas, more creative freedom… and more prizes.
This year's new features
📱 New phone, new ideas
Everything will revolve around the new Phone (3a), and you can participate in one of the four major creative fields:
- Hardware design: imagine a new aesthetic for the mobile phone and its box.
- Software design: propose unique visual or interaction elements.
- Accessories: create an exclusive accessory or collectible.
- Marketing campaign: design how to present the product to the world.

📆 Key dates

Where to participate?
You can read the briefs and submit your proposal directly at nothing.tech until April 23.
What are the benefits?
In addition to the pride of seeing your creation in the hands of thousands of people, the winners will receive:
- A trip to London with all expenses paid ✈️
- Participation in creative workshops with the Nothing team
- Entry to the official launch event
- The final manufactured product
- 1,000 pounds in cash
This This further reinforces Nothing's image as a distinct brand.. While others play it safe, they choose to leave part of the creative process in the hands of the people. And that's not just marketing: the success of the previous model proves that the community responds and that there is an audience willing to try something different.
Furthermore, this year they have simplified the rules (without modifying geometry or cameras, for example), but they have given more freedom in style and visual approach. This is great news for designers and creatives who want to bring something truly fresh to the table.
A proposal from NothingTec: camera control with its own style
From NothingTec We also wanted to do our bit. Our editor ruudhesp (Jose Navarrete) has presented an idea designed to stand out within the software design category.

Widget with shortcuts to the cameras
It is a minimalist widget inspired by the Phone's camera module (3a), which offers direct access to the three rear cameras: main, ultra-wide, and periscope. Each button is visually represented according to the lens type, respecting Nothing's iconic aesthetic.
“I designed this minimalist widget that maintains the Nothing aesthetic. Wouldn’t it be great to have access to the three rear cameras in a completely new way, inspired by the Nothing Phone’s (3a) camera module itself? Each lens organically indicates what type of camera it represents (main, ultra-wide, or periscope). The design adapts to light and dark themes by adjusting its colors. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed creating it.”
— Jose (ruudhesp)
The design automatically adapts to light and dark mode, integrating cleanly and functionally with the Nothing OS interface. Here are several images illustrating the concept:
