Nothing like a good July 1st to ignite the hype. After weeks of rumors and hints, Nothing has confirmed that it will present its new flagship phone, the Nothing Phone (3), on July 1st at 7:00 PM (Spanish peninsular time).. But that's not all: Carl Pei announced on stage at SXSW London that That same day we will also see their first over-ear headphones., the Nothing Headphone (1). Yes, you read that right: the event will bring not one, but two important launches for the brand.
The event: design, community and… a new philosophy?
The event can be followed live via YouTube and there is already a Link to add the reminder to the calendar. Under the slogan “It’s time to play”, The official image shows a pixelated creature, very much in the style of Space Invaders, ...along with a countdown also made with pixels. Everything points to a more playful, more groundbreaking, and probably riskier approach.
Carl Pei made it clear in London: “No copy-pasting of features. No corporate hype. Just bold design, co-creation with the community, and technology that feels different.”. Not bad as a statement of intent for what's to come.
Nothing Phone (3): Goodbye Glyphs, hello Pixels
It's official: The Glyphs disappear. The most distinctive feature of the Nothing Phone is left behind, opening the door to a pixelated rear screen which could revolutionize how we interact with the device. Theories continue to grow, and one of the strongest is that it will serve to demonstrate quick information, notifications, or even basic animations, all without turning on the main screen.
Confirmed: It will have a Snapdragon processor
The official Snapdragon account has responded directly to Nothing's announcement, which confirms the collaboration for this new generation. Although the exact model has not yet been specified, everything indicates that It will once again opt for a powerful and optimized processor., as we saw in previous installments.
A new player in audio: the Nothing Headphones (1)
The other big surprise of the event will be Nothing's debut in a new product category: the over-ear headphones. Nothing Headphone (1) They will also arrive on July 1st, and Carl Pei has made it clear that this release is part of the objective of «"Level up audio by 2025"» and surely It will go hand in hand with the collaboration with KEF.
There are no images or specifications yet, but knowing Nothing's approach to design, We can expect something striking, different, and very well constructed.. Their focus on sound quality and aesthetics could position them directly as competitors to high-end headphones.
Immediate sale after the event?
(Update 06/16/25) We subscribers have received an email from Nothing indicating that you could be one of the lucky ones to acquire the Nothing Phone (3) before anyone else on July 11th. Therefore, it will not be released on the day of the event. For the rest of us mortals who aren't lucky enough to acquire it on July 11th, we'll have to wait at least one more day, although it could be even longer; it's unknown. Although it hasn't been explicitly stated, Everything points to both the Phone (3) and the Headphone (1) going on sale on the same day, at the same time..
The wait until July 1st
From now until the event, we will likely have a teaser campaign with new information, videos and official images.
