If you're looking for the phone with the best processor on the market, the most powerful cameras, the highest brightness, the fastest screen, or the battery with the most milliamps… then this is probably the one for you. Nothing Phone (3) It's not the phone you need, it's not a phone for you. Don't insist, rest in peace. It's like when the Wii came out: if you wanted cutting-edge graphics, you were going to be disappointed. It was a console with specs from another generation, but it offered something different. A different way of playing, of interacting. Well, the same thing happens with Nothing. It doesn't compete to have the best in every aspect, but to do things its own way.
The world of hate
I've been reading for days negative commentsThe comments range from "the design is awful," to "the specs are laughable," to "the rear screen is cheap." Some laugh, some despise it, some say it's a joke. But we live in the age of gratuitous hate. Is it legitimate? Of course, but since we're becoming increasingly polarized and utterly intolerant of the fact that everyone has their own tastes, well… We are in a generation full of "rat kids" (It's just an expression; some of them are even 40 years old) offering their opinions from behind a screen as if they were tech analysts. And that's fine. This phone isn't for them. Nor does it need to be. We've read your comments; you've had your minute of fame. Congratulations.
Nothing remains a niche brand
Right now, Nothing is not a mass-market brand. And with decisions like this, it's going to continue to be difficult for them to get out of that rut. And personally, I love it, though they probably don't. Because the longer it takes them to grow, the more effort they'll have to make to differentiate themselves, to offer something new, different, with soul, and most importantly, to take care of their current customers so they buy the next device. That's what I want. I want to keep seeing phones with unusual, transparent designs, with personality. I don't want just another clone. I don't want an overloaded customization layer, full of features I won't use. I prefer a clean system, Coherent, minimalist. Something that tastes like something.
I don't need the best, I just want something unique.
I don't need a processor that predicts the future. Nor do I need AI that generates a fake selfie when I cover the camera. That's fine for going viral on TikTok, but not for everyday life. I want something that motivates me, that excites me.. And this phone, with its rear screen, invites me to play, to tinker, to explore. I'm eager to see what I can "program" with it. I'm eager to use its Essential Space, Even though it's simple. I like its monochromatic scheme, its clean style. And yes, I prefer to pay more for a clean system, without bloatware., no embedded advertising in native apps, I prefer a well-designed experience that works well on a daily basis, rather than having the best processor on the market that ultimately proves useless.
Furthermore, I'm interested in seeing how Nothing OS It evolves over time. A system that receives updates every 2-3 months, with careful design decisions. That's what I want. Not the absolute best, but the best for me.
I only have one thorn in the side: the quality of the cameras. Not because they're bad, but because I think there's room for much better. I sincerely hope they improve the post-processing and algorithms with future updates, because the hardware has more potential and it would be a shame not to take advantage of it.
