Nothing officially launches the Ear (3), the next generation of its flagship True Wireless Stereo (TWS) headphone category. With a focus on precision acoustics, the innovator Super Mic integrated into the case and a fresh design language, Ear (3) sets a new standard in personal audio, incorporating for the first time metal components within the transparent aesthetic characteristic of Nothing.
A new approach to design
During the presentation on Nothing TV, Carl Pei explained that wireless headphones were becoming "boring" and that it was necessary to take more risks. Ear (3) introduces Softer curves, geometric inspiration, and a complete redesign of the charging case, incorporating metal while maintaining the brand's characteristic transparency.
He case maintains the same size than previous generations, despite integrating more functions, and is manufactured in 100% recycled aluminum, subjected to 27 precision processes. The fusion of metal and plastic through nano molding It eliminates glues and allows for a compact and uniform unibody.
Super Mic: a simple and brilliant idea
He Super Mic, located in the case, allows Capture voices clearly even in environments up to 95 dB. Simply bring the case to your mouth and press the button. TALK for quick conversations or long calls. It also allows you to record ideas directly on Essential Space, which are automatically transcribed (requires Nothing OS).
Each earphone integrates three directional microphones and a bone conduction Voice Pick-up Unit (VPU), which detects micro-vibrations of the ear canal and jaw for more accurate voice recording, complemented by real-time adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC), Trained with over 20 million hours of real audio, the ANC adjusts intensity every 600 ms and corrects leakage every 1,875 ms, with wind noise reduction of over 25 dB.
Sound improvements
The Ear (3) incorporate a 12mm dynamic driver, 1 mm larger than the previous generation, with a diaphragm that increases the radiating surface area by 20%. This translates to 4-6 dB more powerful bass, up to 4 dB clearer treble, and a wider soundstage, maintaining rich and natural environments.
In addition, Ear (3) features Hi-Res certification and LDAC compatibility, guaranteeing a high-fidelity audio experience. It also introduces static spatial sound, creating an immersive 360° environment for music and multimedia.
Antenna and connectivity
Ear (3) integrates a 0.35mm MIM (Metal-Insulator-Metal) antenna, This version improves upon the radiated power of the 15% and the sensitivity of the 20%, ensuring stable connections on the move compared to the previous generation. Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC ensures stable and detailed audio, and the low-latency mode reduces delay to less than 120 ms. It pairs easily with Android, iOS and Windows via Fast Pair or Swift Pair.

Performance and battery
Each earbud has 55 mAh battery, Offering up to 10 hours of playback (90 minutes more than Ear 2024) and up to 38 hours with the charging case. A 10-minute USB-C fast charge provides 10 hours of use, and also features wireless charging. In addition, the headphones and case are IP54, resistant to dust, sweat and light rain.
Coherence and product family
Nothing aims for all its products to share design language, Combining metal, transparency, and ergonomics, while maintaining the brand's visual identity, the case and earbuds maintain an elegant and functional aesthetic, while the compact size and metallic details reinforce the premium feel.
